Humble ISD has gifted and talented (GT) programs for students who show evidence of gifted abilities. Students that are in 2nd-5thgrade are eligible to test for the GT program this spring. All testing will take place on our campus from February 4thto April 12th.

Students that were identified as SPICE in grades K-2 are not automatically nominated for GT. If you would like for your child to be considered for the GT program, you must nominate them.

The testing process includes a parent survey, a teacher survey, and an administration of an ability test. If these instruments indicate gifted potential, then a series of achievement tests will be given. The information gathered from the assessment tools is then used by the Building Selection Committee to determine if a preponderance of evidence indicates gifted abilities in the student.Notification of GT placement will occur in May.

Nominations may originate from teachers, parents, or the student. To make a parent nomination, please stop by the front office to pick up a nomination packet or call/email Tiffany Caseltine, Counselor, to request the information at 281-641-3607

All nominations and permission slips must be returned NO LATER thanFriday, February 1, 2013.
