The Humble ISD Education Foundation has awarded TE $18,271.59 in Innovative Education grants for 2012! Please click the link for a listing of the grants awarded. With your assistande, the Foundation was able to award $267,338 in Innovative Education Grants on Prize Posse Day. When combined with other funding the Foundation provided to Humble ISD this school year for other designated grants and programs such as the Teacher Wishlist program, the Foundation awarded over $587,495 to Humble ISD in the 2011-2012 school year. Thank you for your part in making this year our most successful to date!

The STAAR performance standards for grades 3-8 will be determined in late October 2012 by the Texas Education Agency and will be applied when scores are reported to districts in January of 2013. Once the STAAR results are reported in January 2013, individual student results will be reported to parents. Since the state has not established passing standards, promotion requirements will not include the use of STAAR results for the 2011-2012 school year.

Timbers will once again participate in the Astros Perfect Attendance Program. Each student will have the opportunity to earn free tickets for each of the nine weeks in the second semester. Don't miss out on this great opportunity. Also, students with perfect attendance for the year will be entered into the drawing for a bicycle! These bikes are displayed in the library.
The My School is Cool Program is offering 5 bonus points for each completed form to join their club. By joining the club, shoppers will get notices of special deals and offers via email. Also, note that new members must be at least 13 years of age.

Elementary Schools Cafeteria News
Starting in August 2012, as required under The Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010, students that eat in the cafeteria must take at least ½ cup of fruit and/or vegetable with two other meal components to receive the $2.00 lunch. If the student does not take at least ½ cup of the fruit and/or vegetable with two other meal components they will be charged higher a la carte prices. Food components include: meat, bread/grain, fruit, vegetable and milk.
